General Match Rules
Small to medium rifle cartridges, 30 caliber or smaller and 3,200 FPS speed limit.
No tracer or steel core ammo permitted.
All firearms will be unloaded until instructed to load and make ready. No handling of firearms except at the firing line or moving to/from firing line.
Fingers off trigger and bolts back during stage movements.
Sign-up at least 48 HRS before the match! If we don’t have at least 7 shooters signed up the match will be cancelled.

There will be 3rd prop setup as needed to practice other skills as needed. If you’re new to the sport come out to a practice night and get a feel for it and meet some folks.
Cost: Free for Birchwood members; $15 for those that are not Birchwood members.
Round Count: Approximately 20-40 rounds
Misc: Note that these will be centerfire only because we’ll be at the 300 yard range.

Frozen Chosen 2026
Come test your skills and grit and help us kick off the PRS season!
Round Count: 57 + sighters
Match Fees: $40 paid on match day directly to LRSA - this match includes range fees and a hot lunch!
9am Zero Range Open - 9:30am Safety Brief - 10:00am Match Begins
Stages will focus on movement and target acquisition during a shortened match window starting and ending later in the day to capitalize on daylight hours and what warmth the sun can provide. After completing 3 stages, shooting will halt for a hot lunch - Caribou dogs and all the fixings are provided. Warming tent and heater options will be available!
Upper Susitna Shooters Association has graciously promised to maintain the road to the 1000 yard range – most highway vehicles can drive directly to the firing line.
Packing List: WARM Footwear, jacket layers, hats, thin gloves for shooting, over mits for in between, buff or scarf, fog proof safety glasses, snot rag – AND all your shooting equipment.

NEW FOR 2025: Birchwood Recreation & Shooting Park (BRSP) has partnered with us to provide an exclusive training opportunity and expanded prop selection. As a small return on their investment in us, BRSP Members pay them $5 to participate; Non-Members can attend (no minimums or specific guest passes!) for $15. Please come prepared to pay (cash or card) at sign in at the front desk.
Instruction is hosted by seasoned LRSA shooters, props from Accurate Advantage, volunteers donate their time so we can all learn together! Chasing Perfection Baby!
